So much of focus is based upon taking your best energy, your highest levels of energy, and putting them into one area rather than having them be dispersed in different areas. Meditation is possibly one of the greatest tools, if not the greatest tool, to help you get centered on what it is you should be doing, where you should be putting your attention. Today I want to talk about how meditation makes a four day work week easier. When you consider the basic premise of working less and making more, a lot of it is centered around focus. Focus on the most critical tasks, focus on what's most important that's going to generate the most impact for the people you serve and ultimately lead to the greatest income for you. Now, depending on your view of the world, you might call this prayer, or you might say, When I meditate, Wade, I include God or divine force or the universe in it.

Even better. So what I'm going to suggest to you is whether this is something you believe is divinely inspired or it's simply your intuition, your inner voice, whatever you want to call it. What I'm going to suggest to you is so much of what meditation can do for you is just help you eliminate obstacles or at least postpone things that aren't in your timing. And so this is one of those things that starts to go a little bit more into the spiritual dimension. So we talk sometimes about there being body, heart, mind, and spirit. And most business people, at least in the traditionally what's called the Western world, we're very focused on the mental part, the intellectual part, and we do a lot in that area, so our mind. And we might also do what we call hustle. We use our hustle and we physically do things. We might even evoke emotions and passion, get people behind missions, and that's great. But once you start talking about missions and purpose, you start moving actually from passion, which is more of a symptom of having a really good mission, being passionate about it, you move to the core, which is that mission itself, that spiritual motivation, not in a religious sense to any particular tradition, but a spiritual sense in the sense that that part of us that we've not yet defined, that we don't know exactly what it is.

And so what meditation allows us to do is to tune in. Now, some people will say, Wait, meditation is simply me getting quiet and hearing that voice within. As somebody who has a master's degree and mental health counseling, psychology, and has worked with people before, I really don't think it's that important whether you believe it's God or the universe, or you believe it's your inner voice. It simply seems to work. So this is not about following a particular religious tradition, though that might help you. This is simply you getting quiet and still. Think about your schedule. If there's a time during the week when you do your planning, or a time during the day when you get ready for the day, a little bit before that, getting quiet and getting clear about what it is that's most important and being open to hearing something different. So what I'm going to do is walk you through something real quickly here, and I invite you whenever you can, definitely not while you're driving, but if you're at home or you're in a stationary place, that we're going to take in this episode here about two to three minutes, and I'm going to walk you through an exercise.

So again, please make sure you're in a safe place. I'm about to ask you to close your eyes. If you can't do this, wait to do it later. So now close your eyes and take a deep breath in and slowly release that. And take another deep breath in and slowly release that. And take one more deep breath in and slowly release that. And if you practice some spiritual practice, or if there's some historical figure that you look up to, that you look to for inspiration, you can, if you want, invite that person, that being, that divine energy to guide you in this. Don't have to. Allow your thoughts as far as what needs to happen today to just go to the background, let them dissipate, or if you could, imagine turning down the volume on them. We'll get to them in a little bit. Now just ask that voice within, what's the most important thing you can do today to create greater impact for the people you serve and greater income for you in the least amount of time? And allow whatever answers there are to come up for you. And if it's a couple of things that come up, just let them sort themselves out.

You can even pause this if you need to. As much as possible, don't focus as much on trying to figure something out. Just let things sort themselves out as if you were watching a movie. And allow the best idea, the best thing, the most important thing you need to do, let that surface. Let that voice get louder. Let that come to the top however that looks or feels for you. Now think about, what could you get done today to make significant progress on that? You might not get it all done today, but what could you do today? What's a piece of it that you could do? And what positive impact would come from that? What results for the people you serve would come from that? How would that make their lives better? How would that help you deliver better? And how does that fall into the overall scheme of you generating more income and creating a better lifestyle that you can enjoy outside of work by getting more results in less time? And now allow yourself to mentally take the other things that are important but don't need to be done today and allow yourself to mentally just push them towards tomorrow or the next day.

Allow them to move to the background and think about how much time do you need to make this progress on this project today? And when are you going to make that progress? What time specifically? How will you know when you're done with today's work? Is it a certain time commitment? Or will you reach a certain milestone where you might get done early or it might take you a little longer, but you know when you're finished with that project for today? And allow yourself to see how today's progress is contributing to the greater result that you're looking to create, the bigger project, the bigger outcome. And when you're ready, thank that inner voice, if it guided you or the divine voice or whoever it was that inspired you, and slowly open your eyes. And now just write down whatever it was that came up for you that's important and bring that into today's work. This is so helpful and can be so helpful if you use it simply because as entrepreneurs, we very often have 3, 5, 7, 10, 15, 30 ideas of what we want to do, and our brain is all into all of them.

It's figuring them out. Our emotions are all excited about all of them, but physically, we can't keep up. It's just not possible. Well, at least I'm 48, so maybe some of you youngsters can do two or three ideas, but even still, there's a mental energy that you start losing a level of focus and the quality of your decisions becomes lesser. I invite you to really focus on, even if you have 10, 15, 20 huge objectives you want to get done, they don't have to be done at once. What meditation can do is allow you to use a greater sense of focus or wisdom to create and align your action plans with your most important goals, and what's going to make the biggest impact. And so if you can get a situation where you're going back and forth, you're combining your game plans and strategy and real world implementation, things that have to get executed, and align that with a greater sense of wisdom, a greater sense of focus, and a greater sense of perspective. So this is something I've been blessed to have been introduced two years ago by my mother, actually decades ago. And I've watched over the years as other teachers, thought leaders, entrepreneurs, successful actors, all sorts of people have recognized and commented about what a big impact meditation can make on your life, your focus, your ability to be creative and generate greater results.

If you'd like additional information on a program that can help you go deeper into this, go to 4dayworkweek. Com divine coaching. And there's a link to one of the programs I have called God Can Be Your Coach at Work. Now, I don't always talk about spirituality in the 4 day Work Week entrepreneur podcast because I know a lot of people are mainly focused on the 4 day Work Week piece, but that's a program that really helps people who want to include a divine energy. It doesn't have to be something that you call God. It could be universe, spirit, whatever it is, that can allow you to start getting more in touch with that inner voice inside you. So not so much me telling you, Hey, you need to do A, B, and C, but you getting in touch with that voice within you. So I hope you find this helpful. If there's anything I can do for you, as always, please let me know. And as always, look forward to helping you make more money in less time, do what you do best, so you can better enjoy your family, your friends, and your life.

Thank you.
